Parks meeting to address improvements, challenges

Have an issue, idea or praise for your neighborhood park?

The Neighborhood Parks Council is meeting with Mayor Gavin Newsom, Phil Ginsberg, general manager of the Recreation and Parks Department and many park commissioners Thursday to discuss the state of city parks.

The meeting will address improvements needed as well as current challenges. This is an annual meeting to offer the mayor and department staff an opportunity to discuss the year ahead. It is also an opportunity for the Neighborhood Parks Council to present key issues that need to be addressed, according to the coalition’s website.

The meeting will be held at 9 a.m. at City Hall. Those wishing to attend must RSVP with the Neighborhood Parks Council.
