Parents rally to save Children’s Village

Parents will gather Monday morning to call on the community to help save the award-winning Children’s Village, a 10-year-old development center based in the South of Market neighborhood for low-income kids younger than five. The property where the center is located has been sold, and starting this month, the school will be forced to begin phasing out teachers, staff and families to prepare for vacancy.

The Children’s Village provides vital day care, early childhood education and family support services to more than 100 families. A press conference is scheduled for Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Children’s Village Development Center.
