Paper purveyors took a chance with San Francisco store

Kathy Swindle, who co-founded Soiree San Francisco with Misty Meyer, recently relocated the business to 3676-A Sacramento St. Founded in 2003 by the women, who had no previous experience in the industry but shared a love of good-quality paper and owning their own business, Soiree carries many high-end paper products and gifts.

Why did you relocate? It was mainly because the building was for sale and subsequently bought. The spot is very convenient and we get more walk-in traffic now.

What products do you stock? Printable invitations for all occasions. Beautiful textile and patterned products are also available. We have a section of personalized monograms. We use local artists when we can and like to support newer businesses.

What services do you provide? As we get many brides-to-be, we work one-on-one with them to help them choose their invitations.

Do you enjoy your work? I have loved every minute of it since the time it started. It’s a fun, happy job, and it’s great to be both creative and have a business mind at the same time.
