Outside Lands announces lineup for this year’s festival

OK, here it is. The bulletin you’ve been waiting for. And we have to just stop and say hats off to Another Planet Entertainment, who — in conjunction with Superfly Presents and Starr Hill Presents — are about to bring us the most diverse and engaging Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival to date, Aug. 12 through Aug. 14, in Golden Gate Park.

No joke.

There are obvious headliners, like Muse, Arcade Fire, MGMT, The Black Keys, plus two full sets from Phish. But the bill is also peppered with some of the best up-and-coming outfits the world has to offer in this decidedly exciting year in rock, like Best Coast, Foster The People, The Joy Formidable and your new favorite band (you just don’t know it yet), Britain’s absolutely brilliant Vaccines. Plus seasoned vets like Erykah Badu, John Fogerty, The Original Meters, The Roots and Mick Jones’ recently reunited Big Audio Dynamite.

Tickets go on sale this Thursday at noon at www.sfoutsidelands.com.

And this is the rest of the rock-solid lineup: Deadmau5, Girl Talk, The Decemberists, Beirut, Arctic Monkeys, STS9, Warren Haynes Band, Big Boi, Major Lazer, Little Dragon, Julietta Venegas, Sia, OK Go, Greyboy Allstars, Josh Ritter and The Royal City Band, The Old 97s, Mavis Staples, !!!, Latryx featuring Lyrics Born and Lateef, Collie Buddz, Phantogram, Charles Bradley, Lotus, STRFKR, Junip, Pajama Party, The Infamous Stringdusters, Toro Y Moi, Vetiver, The Limousines, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Stone Foxes, Wye Oak, Ana Tijoux, Orgone, Lord Huron, Tamaryn, Grouplove, The Fresh & Onlys, Ximena Sarinana, Ty Segall, The Sunbirds, Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers, Diego’s Umbrella and Ghost Robot.

See you there!
