Outage leaves about 22,000 briefly without power in SF, Daly City

A power outage this morning briefly left about 22,000 PG&E customers in San Francisco and Daly City without power, a utility spokesman said.

The outage was reported at 11:14 a.m. and affected about 9,500 customers in San Francisco and about 12,500 in Daly City, PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said.

The San Francisco neighborhoods where the outage occurred included the Outer Mission, Excelsior, Glen Park, and parts of Noe Valley, Molica said.

Redundancies built into the system enabled service to be restored to all customers at 11:38 a.m., he said.

The cause of the outage is under investigation, according to Molica.
