Oracle Conference will result in street closures, Muni changes

Beginning Thursday, motorists can expect street closures in SoMa and the Financial District, and passengers on several Muni lines will be forced to deal with rerouting, due to the upcoming Oracle World conference at the Moscone Center.

Although the event doesn’t start until Sunday, the street closures in preparation of the conference will start at 8 p.m. Thursday, when Howard Street is shut down between Third and Fourth streets, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. Howard Street will be closed until Sept. 24.

Starting at 2 a.m. Saturday, Mason Street will be closed between Ellis and O’Farrell streets and will reopen Sept. 24. Eastbound lanes will be closed on Taylor Street between O’Farrell and Eddy streets from 4 a.m. Sunday until Sept. 23.

Overall, 10 different Muni lines will be affected by the weeklong conference, including the 30-Stockton, the 38-Geary, and the 45-Union.
