OC inmates sentenced in beating death

Two Orange County jail inmates have been sentenced to 15 years to life for the beating death of a fellow prisoner.

The Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/xzjBmV ) reports the judge said the actions of Garret Aguilar and Louis Petrovich defied reason when he sentenced both on Friday.

Aguilar and Petrovich were among five inmates convicted of punching, kicking and stomping to death 41-year-old John Chamberlain at the Theo Lacy Facility on Oct. 5, 2006.

Prosecutors say Chamberlain was targeted because he was believed to be a child molester.

Chamberlain was awaiting trial for possession of child pornography.

Last month, the ringleader of the beating Miguel Guillen was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison.

Two other inmates, Stephen Carlstrom and Raul Villafana, await sentencing in February and April, respectively.
