Nursing student Michelle Le went missing one month ago, but family continues the search

Bay Area nursing student Michelle Le has been missing for a month, yet her family has not given up hope.

On Saturday, volunteers participated in a search around  Hayward — the last place Le was seen alive.

The 26-year-old San Mateo woman disappeared May 27. She was last seen leaving Kaiser Hospital in Hayward during a break from an evening shift that she’d worked as part of her training. She was wearing white hospital scrubs.

Police have classified the case as a homicide, but family members still hope Le will be found alive.

The family, who haven’t always seen eye-to-eye with Hayward police regarding the investigation, hired private investigator Michael Frame to help find Le.

Frame will offer anonymity, protection and relocation to anyone afraid to come forward and speak to police, the family said in a statement.

Hayward police said they remain in daily contact with Le’s family.
