Not exactly a scene from ‘Bullitt’

An allegedly violent shoplifter took San Francisco cops on a wild chase Wednesday — on his bicycle, police said.

The 38-year-old Western Addition man stole six bottles of liquor from the Albertson’s grocery store in the North of the Panhandle neighborhood, police said. Cops saw a clerk chasing the thief around 9 a.m.

When officers stopped the bicyclist, he knocked one of them to the ground and took off. The chase “circled city blocks until a Park Station posse cornered him in the 1300 block of Fulton Street,” police said.

“The suspect fought with the police, injuring another officer, until he was subdued,” police said.

The man was booked at Park Station on five charges.
