No way to stop OK Go

There’s just no stopping Damian Kulash and his kooky Chicago combo OK Go.

Tonight — believe it or not — the boundary–pushing video conceptualists will be performing their kaleidoscopic latest (“All Is Not Lost,” with Pilobolus) live on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” which airs at 9 p.m. And — given the exacting nature of its choreography — it’s a one-time –only affair.

Haven’t seen it yet?

Do yourself a favor and go to and gape in slack-jawed amazement. And then catch the group in person this Saturday, here in San Francisco at Outside Lands (3:15 p.m. at the Lands End stage in the Polo Field, Golden Gate Park).

Left to their own devices after ditching their major label deal and going it alone, OK Go has been quite busy proving that it’s possible to be happily DIY in the digital age.

They’ve just released an “All Is Not Lost” EP, featuring the album track from their hit “Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky” set, plus a live version, an HD video and two remixes of the song by Keys N Krates and Serious Business. Which follows their recent live album, “180/365” (denoting their touring-date ratio), recorded during their fall 2010 jaunt.

In Chicago, they just performed as part of president Obama’s 50th birthday event, and they’re currently in the middle of shooting their next video. With The Muppets! What’s not to love?
