No surprise for Harris; Hennessey wins

Kamala Harris will not have to wait for hand-counted ballot results before celebrating her second term. The wildly popular district attorney ran unopposed in Tuesday’s election. She hosted a victory party at Tosca Café in North Beach after the polls closed.

Sheriff Michael Hennessey will most likely carry on the state’s longest tenure for an elected sheriff — almost three decades. Sheriffs union head David Wong ran for the job as well, but with seven terms under Hennessey’s belt, early results indicate San Francisco voters supported the candidate with more experience.
