No more free parking for cops?

There always seemed to be an unwritten code for parking around the Hall of Justice at 850 Bryant St. Officers often parked their personal vehicles up on a curb or in a red zone when heading in to work or to testify at trial.

But with the Municipal Transportation Agency bleeding red and cuts to Muni service a constant threat, those cushy parking spaces look to be a thing of the past.

On Friday, a bulletin went out to police telling them to no longer take advantage of parking at the Hall of Justice garage and the alleyways surrounding the building.

But, at least, there are some spaces where cops can put a parking permit or subpoena on their dashboards and not have to worry about those pesky parking tickets like everyone else has to.
