Newsom’s last appointments await decision

Gavin Newsom is no long mayor, but on Thursday the Board of Supervisor Rules Committee will decide whether to support some of the final appointments he made before heading to Sacramento to serve as lieutenant governor.

Among them is Newsom’s former staffer Jason Elliot appointed to the Commission on the Environment. Last time Newsom tried to appoint a former staffer to a commission things didn’t fair so well.

But that we before the big political upheaval.

Other Newsom appointments up for consideration include Andrew Wolfram, Richard Johns and Karl Hasz to the Historic Preservation Commission.

The Rules Committee meets Thursday, at 1:30 p.m. at City Hall in Room 263.
