Newsom’s fundraising for lieutenant governor bid moving right along

Mayor Gavin Newsom is racing ahead in his bid for California lieutenant governor. His final election filings show he has raised more than $1 million since he jumped into the race March 12.

Since the last reporting period on March 18, Newsom raked in $792,311, according to sources close to his campaign. The numbers were released Thursday by the secretary of state.

With two weeks left until Election Day, Newsom has $770,776 cash on hand. The campaign for his chief Democratic opponent, Janice Hahn, says the Los Angeles City Council member has $368,000 cash on hand.
