Newsom’s fee deferral plan continued 

After undergoing several amendments Monday, legislation introduced by Mayor Gavin Newsom to help stimulate residential construction was continued until a May 3 hearing.

The legislation, heard Monday by the Board of Supervisors Land Use and Economic Development Committee, would allow developers to defer payment of development fees, which is meant to encourage construction during the down economy.
