Newsom’s favorite lunch spot expands to City Hall, library

The winning bidder to operate the City Hall ground floor cafe and the North Light Court operates the popular ground floor cafe at the Superior Court at  400 McAllister St. That location happens to be where Mayor Gavin Newsom sends a staffer to purchase his turkey wrap.

The San Francisco Examiner reported in July 2008: “And as for lunch, [Newsom] is a creature of habit, sending staff to the [Mint] located in the courthouse next to City Hall every day to get him a turkey wrap, which he often eats in the town car.”

The winning bidder is Elias M. Nasra & Family Partnership, which also just was awarded a lease to operate the cafe space at the San Francisco Public Library Main Branch. The Board of Supervisors Budget and Finance Committee approved the agreement Wednesday. The deal is $1,500 per month in rent.
