Newsom vs. Arnie: Round 2

It was another day of Mayor Gavin Newsom firing off at Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for denying transit agencies money.

Newsom sent out a statement Wednesday explaining his dismay and frustration over the governor’s intent to veto a major transit bill that would send more than $30 million to Muni.

But after announcing the new streetscape improvements done on Divisadero Street, Newsom took another time out to tell us how he feels: “Enough is enough,” he said.

“We are getting hammered by these cuts … he knows the position we are all in, he’s taken plenty of money. He’s had his hand in the cookie jar for the last few years,” Newsom said.
