Newsom Tracker: Attack on predatory lender

After a busy day in Washington D.C. Wednesday, where Mayor Gavin Newsom struck a deal on Treasure Island and lobbied for the JobsNOW program, he is back in The City today, according to his schedule.

But he won’t be cooped up in City Hall all day. The mayor and Treasurer Jose Cisneros today will launch a low-cost emergency loan program available to city residents as an alternative to borrowing from predatory lenders.

The 11:30 a.m. event is set to take place at the Mission Neighborhood Center on Capp St. between 18th and 19th streets, the Mayor’s Office said.
