Newsom takes it down to the wire on lt. gov. decision

Mayor Gavin Newsom only has two days left before he has to make a decision about whether he will run for California lieutenant governor, and it appears he is going to drag it out until the last minute.

“I recognize time is coming to an end,” Newsom told reporters Wednesday morning. “We will be making an announcement before Friday about my intentions but there nothing I can offer you today.”

Newsom pulled nomination papers and paid the filing fee for lt, but it doesn't make it official. He will make an announcement before Friday, he said.

What’s left to decide in two days?

Newsom says he is still balancing his love for leading San Francisco with his comfort level of running another statewide campaign.

Stay tuned.
