Newsom resolution will praise health care passage

Mayor Gavin Newsom is proposing a resolution Tuesday praising House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her role in passing national health care reform this week.

The resolution will be introduced at the Board of Supervisors meeting today, a few hours after President Barack Obama signed the much-debated health care reform bill in Washington, D.C.

“It’s important to be having this event as a bookmark to what president did today when signing health care bill," Newsom said. "Health works only when you focus on prevention and wellness not just access.”
