Newsom plugs his environmental credentials for lieutenant governor campaign

Gavin Newsom is spending part of the last week of his campaign touting his accomplishments in green policy. His campaign Tuesday unveiled a television ad listing Newsom’s environmental accomplishments as mayor of “one of the greenest cities in the world.”

The new spot emphasizes how Newsom would bring his drive for green reform to Sacramento, protecting California’s precious natural resources and growing its clean-tech economy, according to the campaign.

And here is a snippet of the ad:

“Before he could help the natural environment, he had to change the political one. So that’s what Gavin Newsom did. He used equal parts innovation and inspiration to help create one of the greenest cities on earth: closing polluting power plants and investing in wind, solar, and other clean technologies to create green, high-tech jobs for the new economy. So, if you’re looking for someone to stand up for a cleaner, healthier, and more forward-looking California, vote for the Democrat who already has: Gavin Newsom.”
