Newsom offers reasons for running for lt gov.

Mayor Gavin Newsom wrapped up his reasons for running for California lieutenant governor in one word: realignment.

When talking about the need for government reform, Newsom mentioned that the state needs to make some real changes in government, and part of that includes realignment, he said.

“One of the reasons I am running for lieutenant governor, one of the things I want to focus on disproportionately is this issue of realignment,” Newsom said.  “As a county mayor I’m uniquely positioned to have a voice in Sacramento to discuss this.”
