Newsom launches "HelloWallet" finance tool

Mayor Gavin Newsom is striving to make San Francisco residents more “financially fit” and help put money back into their pockets.

Today, he announced a new online financial guidance tool to help residents manage their money, dubbed HelloWallet.

“If there is one lesson we can draw from the ruinous foreclosure crisis, it is that we must democratize access to independent financial guidance, something most people do not have access to today,” Newsom said. “HelloWallet and San Francisco share a common objective: to empower all residents to take control of their finances by providing the very best financial guidance and management tools.”

The City is partnering with nonprofits and businesses to launch this online tool.
