Newsom entreats Chinatown residents to fill out Census forms

Mayor Gavin Newsom showed off his Cantonese language skills Wednesday at an afternoon event in Chinatown where he urged residents, especially senior citizens, to fill out their 2010 Census forms.

The announcement coincided with the day the U.S. Census Bureau targets the non-sheltered outdoor homeless population.

“The City and all sectors of the community must work together to make sure every San Francisco resident is counted,” said Newsom.  “Each person counted means more money, representation and services to the City.”
