Newsom campaign inconspicuousness no longer

The Gavin for Lieutenant Governor campaign has kept a low profile even before the primary election, only sending out the occasional press release and holding few fundraising events. But now it appears the campaign is feeling the need to up the ante, even if polls show Newsom ahead of his Republican opponent, Abel Maldonado. Newsom finally opened a campaign headquarters, located on 1355 Market St., just a skip from City Hall. After re-tapping into his 20,000 or so volunteer base (many leftover from the governor campaign) it was clear he needed a place to get business done. The formal, no-press, celebration party is scheduled for Friday evening.
