New taxi advisory council set for inaugural meeting

The 15-member Taxi Advisory Council, formed to help monitor The City’s controversial taxi medallion sales pilot program, will conduct its inaugural meeting next week.

The group, a mix of taxi medallion holders, cab company officials, drivers and other industry officials, will convene on Aug. 4 at 1 South Van Ness Ave., the headquarters of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which oversees the taxi industry.

The meeting is scheduled to last from 2-4 p.m. The agenda for the meeting has yet to be posted.
