New member joins Caltrain board 

Caltrain, which is dealing with the departure of a respected rail engineer, is welcoming a new member to its nine-person Board of Directors.

Liz Kniss, a member of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority Board of Directors, attended her first meeting as a Caltrain board member Thursday.

Caltrain, which travels from San Jose to San Francisco, is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of representatives from three different counties. Kniss is one of three members from Santa Clara County. There are also three members from San Mateo and San Francisco counties.
