The often murky financial picture of California's high-speed rail will become a lot clearer tomorrow.

Updated estimates for the construction costs, fare structures and funding mechanisms of the high-speed rail project will be released on Tuesday as part of the California High Speed Rail Authority’s new business plan.

The plan will be released at 11 a.m. during a press conference at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. Board members Tom Umberg, Dan Richard, Mike Rossi and Jim Hartnett, will be there for the announcement, as will the Authority’s chief executive officer, Roelof van Ark.

Following those announcements, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and his counterparts in San Jose -- Mayor Chuck Reed -- and Los Angeles -- Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa -- will hold a 1 a.m. press conference to give their reactions to the new business plan.
