» Saints Capital in San Francisco hired Brian DiLaura as a senior associate. He was president of Sextant Holdings Inc.

» Nicholas Binkley has joined the board of directors of UnionBanCal Corp. He is founding partner of the private equity firm Forrest, Binkley & Brown.

» Financial Stocks Inc. hired Michael McMahon as managing director of the private equity division, leading the new San Francisco office. He was a managing director of Sandler O’Neill & Partners LP.

» The nonprofit finance-professionals group CFA Society of San Francisco honored Russell Fuller as a Distinguished Member. He is president of Fuller & Thaler Asset Management. The group also recognized Newton Don for his volunteer efforts.


» Health information-services firm Healthline elected Paul Sheils to its board of directors. He was CEO of Aetna Health Information Solutions Inc.


» Litigation support firm Exterro opened a Bay Area office in Sausalito and hired David Haines as executive VP of strategy and development. He comes from The New York Times and Anderson Consulting.

» Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP hired Jennifer Redmond as a partner in the labor and employment practice. She previously worked at Bingham McCutchen.


» Anthera Pharmaceuticals Inc. of San Mateo hired James Pennington as executive vice president and chief medical officer. He held the same titles at CoTherix Inc.


» San Mateo software and storage firm Fabrik Inc. hired Mark McEachen as CFO and Tim Harrington as VP of software development. McEachen was interim CEO and COO/CFO of BridgeCo Inc. Harrington was VP of engineering at and Onedoto Inc.

» Victoria Grey was hired as the new VP of strategic alliances at GroundWork Open Source, a San Francisco software and systems firm. She was VP of sales and marketing at EMC Insignia.

» WageWorks, a San Mateo benefits-software firm, hired Joe Jackson as CEO. He was president of Western Union Global Payment Services.

» Obopay, a Redwood City firm that allows people to make payments via their mobile phones, hired Dave Johnson as CFO. He was treasurer of the town of Moraga.
