Health care

» Blue Shield of California promoted and hired five new VPs, including Anurang Revri, David Arnold, Brent Hitchings, Garry Ronco and Priscilla Muniz.

» Menlo Park eye-care incubator ForSight Labs LLC hired K. Angela Macfarlane as president and CEO. She was chief technology counsel at The Foundry.

Cosmetics

» San Francisco’s Bare Escentuals Inc. hired Mark Spillman as managing director of the U.K. office. He was a general manager and sales director for Parfums Christian Dior.

Retail

» San Francisco online retailer RedEnvelope Inc. promoted John Pound from chairman to executive chairman and Frank Buettner from COO to president and COO. Chris Nordquist, former general counsel, was promoted to chief administrative officer and general counsel.

Technology

» NetSuite Inc. of San Mateo elected SolarWinds CFO Kevin Thompson to its board of directors.

» Karim Toubba was hired as VP of marketing and business development at RedSeal Systems Inc. He was previously at Ingrian Networks.

» Sigaba, a San Mateo security and software firm, hired Neeraj Moondra as VP of channel development. He was group manager of business solutions at Spring Nextel.

» Foster City IT service firm newScale elected George Shaheen to its board of directors. He was CEO and global managing partner of Anderson Consulting.

» Genius.com, an online marketing software firm, hired Michael Myers as VP of technical operations. He was formerly of Netli and Microsoft’s MSN.

» TradeBeam Inc. of San Mateo said David Nelson joined its advisory board. He is chief strategy and business development officer at HTC Global Services Inc.

» Coverity Inc. of San Francisco hired David Maxwell as open source strategist. He was a senior software designer for IDT Canada.

» NComputing Inc. of Redwood City hired Gabriele Sartori as VP of product marketing and business development. He comes from Spansion Inc.

» Correction: In the April 20 edition, the paper misidentified the job change of John Scumniotales. He was hired as VP of product management at San Mateo’s Serena Software Inc. after Serena acquired Pacific Edge Software

» ServiceSource hired John Adams as CFO, working in San Francisco. He was CFO and executive board member of Sygen International.
