Neil Young, wife Pegi celebrating 25 years of Bridge School Benefit

Neil Young and his wife Pegi aren’t letting the 25th Anniversary of their annual Bridge School Benefit pass by this year without trumpets blaring.

Justly proud of the past 24 years of incredible performances from rockdom’s most stellar talents, they — with Reprise Records — have assembled an exhaustive best-of commemorative package, a 3-DVD/2-CD set dubbed “The Bridge School Benefit Concerts.” It hits the street Oct. 24.

The video portion includes stripped-down appearances from past anchors like Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, Patti Smith, David Bowie. Bob Dylan, The Who, Paul McCartney, and Simon and Garfunkel. The CDs include Sheryl Crow, Thom Yorke, No Doubt, Willie Nelson, Norah Jones and Dave Matthews.

Get the panoramic picture?

And for anyone curious about the charity itself, there’s a bonus DVD documentary thrown in, “The Bridge School Story,” plus another backstage doc on the show’s inner workings. T

he cover was designed by none other than Shepard Fairey, making it an all-round must-own package for Young fans.
