NBC Bush interview dead last (but still better than Conan debut)

So, you're the 'Decider Guy'?            (ap photo)

He's back! He's....everywhere. Former President George W. Bush was interviewed (in a church, nice touch NBC) by Matt Lauer last night in a much-hyped first one-on-one since leaving the White House, to coincide with today's book release. Apparently not that many people watched.

According to the ratings tracker TVBYTHENUMBERS, Matt Lauer Reports maxed out at 7.1 million viewers last night. Not half bad, Bushie! But erm, Dancing with the Stars pulled in 17.9 million. Ouchie!

Another much-heralded return was Conan O'Brien's new show on TBS. Despite a campaign that would rival Bush's book tour promotions, Conan drew only 4.2 million.

Maybe TV, like the 2012 Republican presidential field, desperately needs some new faces.

Must run -- time to watch Bush on Oprah!

Read any good books lately? (ap photo)
