‘Naked Cowboy’ is running for President in 2012?

We hear from the tea party movement and the right that they are for limited government. The question in the light of the latest person to announce for President is whether or not they mind limited clothing at the same time.

Times Square’s famous “Naked Cowboy” has announced that he is running for President in 2012. It seems that he is no fan of Obama and wants to see a clear change of direction for the country.

Many of his ideas would ring true with some in the tea party movement and conservatives of all ilks. CNN reports on his main points.

"I will balance the budget"…”'I will cut the capital gains tax, corporate income tax and individual income taxes"…"I will relentlessly remind Americans we are in a never-ending war against radical Islamics"…"I will once and for all close and secure the borders of the United States to illegal immigration by building all necessary barriers. "I will support all legislation designed to uphold the vitality of the Second Amendment... "

Some would argue that his obsession with immigrants and foreigners, borders on too strongly on isolationism. And his English only policy might not go down well with some. Local NY ABC affiliate takes about his qualifications for office. You can even watch a video of him in both HD & 3D.

“Robert Burke has a degree in political science from the University of Cincinnati. He wouldn't be the first cowboy president and he's already run for mayor of New York. "Cause no one's ever done more with less than me," Burke said. "If I can literally build a global brand with a pair of underwear, boots and hat, think what I can do for the city of New York."

His last name (Burke) might provide late amusement for the political historian. How (Edmund) Burkean are the naked cowboys ideas? Would the conservative and classic liberal philosopher recognize his ideas in the philosophy of the Naked Cowboy?

Once the November election is over no doubt we will hear of more conservatives lining up to run for President. The gauntlet has been thrown down by the merchandising publicity pro 'Naked Cowboy.'
