Muni transit director John Haley to give TEP update Thursday

Recommendations from Muni’s Transit Effectiveness Project, the agency’s once-in-a-lifetime study of its public transportation system, have yet to be implemented fully, three years after completion of the undertaking.

Funding woes and political turnover have hampered the project, but the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which operates Muni, has vowed to push forward with the plan.

On Thursday, John Haley, transit director at the SFMTA, will give the latest updates on the implementation of the TEP, which was completed in order to make Muni more efficient, reliable and safer.

Haley will deliver the update at SPUR, a local think-tank. The meeting will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the organization’s headquarters on 654 Mission St.

Correction: This blog originally said the presentation would be Wednesday. The presentation will actually be Thursday. The Examiner regrets the error.
