Muni passenger points out pickpocket to aid teen

A Muni passenger tipped off a 14-year-old girl to the grubby little pickpocket that stole from her on a bus in the Western Addition on Wednesday, police said.

The victim was standing while riding the bus near Fulton and Laguna streets about 3:50 p.m. The good Samaritan told her to check her bag, and when she did she saw her wallet was missing, police said. The Samaritan then pointed out the suspect, a 16-year-old girl.

The victim confronted the accused teenage girl, who told the victim to get away before punching her in the lip, police said.

The suspect then got off the bus and the victim followed. But she thought better of it when the 16-year-old was joined by five girls. The group walked northbound on Laguna Street, and the suspect remains outstanding, police said.
