Muni passenger kicks thug who tries to take his iPhone

A Muni passenger’s powerful kick kept a robber from swiping his iPhone Saturday.

The thug tried to take the cellphone from the passenger’s hand on the bus at Mission Street and Richland Avenue around 10 p.m., police said.

The thug then unleashed a flurry of punches on the passenger, but the victim kicked him once and retained the phone, police said.

The robber, described only as a man in his 20s, fled the bus with several other people. There has been no arrest.

The victim complained of pain to his head, but he refused medical attention, police said.
