Muni Metro service delayed after L-Taraval strikes object on tracks

Muni Metro passengers are experiencing a slow commute Friday morning due to a problem with one of the agency’s trains.

Sometime Friday morning, an L-Taraval train made contact with something on the downtown underground railway, according to agency spokesman Paul Rose. Rose did not have details on what the L-Taraval struck or where on the system the incident occurred.

As a result, Muni Metro trains are travelling through the subway system in manual mode, resulting in slower commute times, Rose said.
