Muni hits parked truck, one passenger hospitalized

A Muni bus hit a parked truck near Potrero Hill on Wednesday morning, sending the only passenger to the hospital.

A 10-Townsend bus crashed into the truck around 6:20 a.m. near 25th and Dakota streets, according to Muni spokeswoman Kristen Holland. The accident caused a chain reaction that damaged two other parked cars.

One passenger on the bus was injured and taken to a hospital. The person’s injuries are not life-threatening, she said.

Standard Muni procedure requires the driver be tested for drugs and alcohol and be placed on nondriving status.

The bus involved in the crash had to be towed from the scene.

Muni’s 10-Townsend and 48-Quintara/24th Street lines were routed around the intersection until the roadway was cleared at about 10:30 a.m., Holland said.
