MTA to update Disability Council on placard enforcements

The Mayor’s Disability Council will get an update on Friday about recent efforts to crack down on illegal placard abuse.

For the first quarter of this fiscal year, parking control offices nabbed 689 illegal disabled placards, a 93.5 percent increase from the year prior.

Officials from the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which oversees parking operations in The City, will give a presentation at the Disability Council to discuss how the efforts are impacting the disabled community.

The meeting is scheduled to last from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Room 400 in City Hall.
