Motorcyclist killed in crash near SF City Hall

A motorcyclist died Saturday evening after sideswiping a car and colliding with a pedestrian in San Francisco's Civic Center neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers responded to a report around 5 p.m. that a motorcyclist had sideswiped a black Lexus in the area of McAllister Street and Van Ness Avenue, less than a block from City Hall, a fire dispatcher said.

The impact of the collision caused the motorcyclist to crash into a pedestrian, who suffered injuries that were not considered life threatening, police said.

However, the motorcyclist died from wounds suffered in the crash.
