Morning stock check: SunPower, Network Alliance up 

The San Jose solar power products and services company, SunPower Corp. (SPWR), is up more than three percent in early trading, increasing by more than $2.50 per share. Network Alliance, Inc. (NTAP) out of Sunnyvale is also up this morning with shares up more than 2.6 percent.

BEA Systems, Inc. (BEAS) and Symantec Corp. (SYMC) are down this morning with the price per share of both companies dropping by more than 2.5 percent.

Shares of BEA Systems and Intel Corp. (INTC) are trading the most with nearly 22 million shares of BEA Systems changing hands and 20.57 million shares of Intel being traded.

Overall, the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index is trading down this morning, even dipping below 14,000 in early trading.

In other stock-related news, Hewlett Packard (HPQ) handed out $5 million in grants for microenterprises, according to MSN Money. Also the brokerage firm Charles Scwab Corp. (SCHW) saw its third-quarter profits rise, according to the Associated Press.
