Morning stock check: Sun, Cisco at high volume 

The Dow is down more than 60 points in early Wednesday trading but still above the 14,000-point threshold.

Early local performers include VMWare, Inc. (VMW) -- up two points -- and Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (ISRG), which was up five points during Wednesday morning trading.

Chevron Corp. (CVX), KLA-Tencor Corp. (KLAC) and Apple Inc. (AAPL) are all down more than a point.

Local juggernauts Sun Microsystems, Inc. and Cisco Systems, Inc. are trading at the highest volume this morning, trading 13.35 million and 12.05 million shares respectively.

In the news, Apple was accused of an unlawful iPhone monopoly, according to Forbes. The Associated Press sued Verisign over copyright issues, according to CNNMoney.com.

Also, Google, Inc. (GOOG) bought instant-message start-up Jaiku, Reuters reported.
