Morning stock check: Oracle down, SunPower up 

Big-name tech companies are down in early trading this morning. Oracle Corp. (ORCL) and Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) are trending down by about 7 percent per share. Also down more than 6 percent are VMware. Inc. (VMW) and Network Appliance, Inc. (NTAP).

Solar energy systems company SunPower Corp. (SPWR) continues to do deal with its shares up more than 9 percent this morning. The Gap Inc. (GPS) is also trending up by more than 5 percent per share.

The companies doing the worst this morning are also trading at the highest volume. Cisco Systems and Oracle have had 75.9 million and 33.88 million shares change hands, respectively.

Overall, the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index is neither trending up or down in trading this morning.

In other stock news, shares of Cisco Systems are down because the company failed to exceed growth estimates, according to Bloomberg News. Gap's October same-store sales dropped 8 percent, according to The Associated Press.
