Morning stock check: Juniper Networks up, Lam Research Corporation down 

Juniper Networks, Inc. (JNPR) was leading trading among Bay Area stocks tracked by the Examiner on Tuesday morning, with shares up more than 4.3 percent. Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) and salesforce.com, inc. (CRM), which designs customer service software aids, were also trending upward.

Heading downward were shares of Lam Research Corporation (LRCX) and Gilead Sciences, Inc. (GILD), falling more than 3.1 percent and 2.7 percent, respectively.

Cisco’s shares were trading at the highest volume, with more than 35.1 million shares exchanged. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) and Intel Corporation (INTC) were also trading at high volume.

Overall, markets were mixed, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index and the S&P 500 moving down and the Nasdaq up slightly.

Bay Area companies in the news included Yahoo Inc. (YHOO), which renewed and extended its search agreement with InfoSpace Inc. (INSP), according to Forbes.com, and Lam Research Corporation, which agreed to buy SEZ Group for about $568 million, according to MSN Money.
