Morning stock check: Applied Materials up, SunPower down 

Applied Materials, Inc. (AMAT), a Santa Clara-based semiconductor manufacturer, is up more than 7 percent in early trading this morning. The only other company with a more than one percent increase is eBay, Inc. (EBAY).

Just a morning after trending up in early trading, SunPower Corp. (SPWR) is down more than 6 percent per share. McAfee, Inc. (MFE) and Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) are also down more than 4 percent per share this morning.

Cisco Systems is also the company trading at the highest voume this morning with more than 38 million shares changing hands. Intel Corp. (INTC) is at a volume of 19.37 million and Oracle Corp. (ORCL) is at 18.23 million this morning.

Overall, the Dow Jones Industrial Index is trending down again this morning.

In other stock news, sluggish U.S. sales sent Cisco Systems' sales falling, according to InternetNews.com. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) introduced a microprocessor for high-performance computing, according to InformationWeek.
