More than $26 million in transit funding up for approval

Over $26 million in local tax funds could be approved Tuesday for infrastructure and transportation projects.

The San Francisco County Transportation Authority, a local planning and financing body that is governed by the Board of Supervisors, will vote on the funding allocation at its meeting Tuesday.

Of that total, $22.6 million will go toward utility relocation efforts related to Muni’s Central Subway project, a $1.6 billion extension of Metro service from the SoMa district to Chinatown. Another $3.3 million will be spent on upgrading Caltrain infrastructure.
