More BART protests may be on the way

The hacker group Anonymous has taken to the Internet to announce another protest of BART on Monday during the evening commute hours.

A Twitter account purporting to be associated with Anonymous tweeted Wednesday morning that they are planning a protest for Monday at 5 p.m. at the Civic Center station in San Francisco.

The new call for protests comes after BART service was slowed Monday evening during commute hours by station closures.

The protests come as BART is under fire for shutting down cellphone service in several of its downtown stations Aug. 11 in order to prevent service disruptions.

Protesters originally wreaked havoc on the Bay Area transit system on July 11. That protest was in response to a shooting of a homeless man on a BART station platform.
