Mission shooting victim checks self in to hospital

A man with bullet wounds in the chest and shoulder walked into San Francisco General Hospital early Saturday morning after a Mission district shooting.

The victim told police he was shot near the intersection of 25th Street and Potrero about 3 a.m., according to police.

The injury was not expected to be life threatening and suspect information was not immediately available.

Aggravated assaults in the Mission district have remained steady in the last three months. Since Oct. 18 there have been 120 assaults reported district-wide, according to the latest police statistics.

Earlier this week, police said the death of a 34-year-old man in a Mission district residential hotel was ruled a homicide, making it The City’s third homicide of the year.
