Mission Community Market gains support from supervisors 

The Board of Supervisors Budget and Finance Committee voted Wednesday in support of granting a temporary waiver of a street occupancy fee for the Mission Community Market on June 19. Market organizers are holding a fundraiser is help launch the market.  The block party fundraiser will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The market is expected to open in the summertime and be open Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its location on Bartlett and 22nd Streets. The market is meant to provide healthy foods to those who may not have access to them as well as serve as a community gathering space.

The full board will vote on the waiver Tuesday.
