Missing pit-bull mix puppy Rex found in Manteca

Paws well that ends well.

Rex, the 10-week-old pit-bull mix puppy that was reported missing over the weekend has been found, according to Wonder Dog Rescue.

Wonder Dog had reported on its Facebook page earlier Tuesday that the tan and white pit-bull mix with bright blue eyes had gone missing from his foster home in the Western Addition on Friday night.

Apparently, the foster mother and Wonder Dog had a disagreement over Rex and she told the rescue she would take the puppy to Animal Care and Control. Wonder Dog agreed to pick up Rex there, but he was never dropped off, even though the foster mom told the rescue she dropped him off Saturday night, rescue representatives said.

It was unknown what the nature of the disagreement over the dog was about, but director of administration for Wonder Dog, Amanda Foulds, said the woman had been a great foster mother for other dogs in the past.

Later Tuesday afternoon, Wonder Dog updated its Facebook page to say the puppy had been found.

Due to an anonymous tip, the post read, Rex was discovered in Manteca, reportedly in the home of the foster mother's brother and sister-in-law.

A volunteer for the rescue drove out and picked up the puppy. He had reportedly been in Manteca since Friday.
